                                                                                                 HUTTO ISD ATHLETICS | 2026-2027

UPDATED JULY 2026

2026 VARSITY FOOTBALL MEDIA CREDENTIALS

Hutto ISD supports legitimate news coverage of varsity football while prioritizing the safety of student-athletes, coaches, officials, medical personnel, security staff, spirit groups, and gameday personnel. Because the football sideline is an active competition, medical-response, operational area, and field access is limited to the minimum number of individuals whose approved duties require field-level positioning.

Credential approval is game-specific. Approval for one game does not guarantee approval for another game and does not automatically include field access, press box seating, parking, interviews, or broadcast rights.

MEDIA CREDENTIAL QUICK FACTS

  • Requests for a Friday Varsity Football game are due by 12:00 PM Wednesday.
  • Applicants must receive written approval before arriving at Hutto Memorial Stadium.
  • Field access is generally limited to one individual per outlet.
  • Credentials are issued to named individuals and are non-transferable.
  • All media and equipment must remain completely behind the dotted white boundary line surrounding the field.
  • Media may not enter either team box, the playing field, medical areas, team tunnels, spirit group work areas, or emergency routes.
  • Dave Campbell's Texan Live is Hutto ISD's official live-stream provider.
  • No other livestream, webcast, or full-game video production is permitted without separate written authorization.

REQUEST A 2026-27 MEDIA CREDENTIAL

Submission of a request does not guarantee approval. Applicants should normally receive written approval, conditional approval, or denial by 5:00 PM Thursday before a Friday game.

WHO MAY QUALIFY

Credentials may be considered for working personnel assigned by:

  • Daily, weekly, semi-weekly, or community newspapers and recognized publications.
  • Television stations, radio stations, wire services, and established news organizations.
  • Established digital news or sports outlets that consistently publish original reporting under identifiable editorial leadership.
  • Official Hutto ISD or participating-school communications departments.
  • Approved school newspapers, yearbooks, journalism programs, and supervised student media.
  • Separately authorized broadcast organizations

Requests must be submitted or confirmed by an assigning editor, news director, sports director, station manager, school-media adviser, communications representative, or other authorized supervisor.

FREELANCE REPORTERS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS

Freelance reporters, photographers, and videographers are ineligible for credentials unless they have been hired or formally assigned by qualifying local news media outlets to cover the event. Written assignment confirmation from the local news media outlet is required. The sponsoring local media outlet is responsible for the credential holder's conduct and compliance.

APPLICANTS AND USES THAT DO NOT QUALIFY

Credentials will not be issued to the following:

  • Unaffiliated freelance reporters, photographers, or videographers.
  • Parents, family photographers, spectators, personal social media accounts, fan pages, or influencer accounts.
  • Booster-club members or volunteers without a separately approved school assignment.
  • Commercial photographers seeking direct-to-family sales, recruiting products, athlete-promotion packages, merchandise, fundraising, speculative image sales.
  • Recruiting, scouting, or athlete-evaluation services.
  • Sponsors, promotional representatives, personal assistants, and additional crew members without a documented working role.
  • Anonymous or primarily aggregated content sites and outlets created mainly to obtain event access.

FIELD ACCESS & SAFETY BOUNDARY

The dotted white line surrounding the field is the controlled media safety boundary. All credentialed media must remain completely behind this line unless specifically directed by Hutto ISD event administration. Cameras, monopods, bags, chairs, cases, and all other equipment must also remain completely behind the dotted white line.

ADDITIONAL FIELD RULES

  • Media may not enter either team box.
  • End-zone photographers and videographers must remain seated or kneeling during live play.
  • Media may not run along the sideline to follow the play.
  • Movement between approved areas should only occur during timeouts, quarter breaks, halftime, or when directed by event staff.
  • Media must yield immediately to players, coaches, officials, athletic trainers, chain crew, ball personnel, security, and emergency responders.

BROADCASTS & LIVESTREAMS

Dave Campbell's Texan Live is Hutto ISD's official live-stream provider for Hutto Varsity Football.

Approval of a standard media credential does not authorize livestreaming, webcasting, telecasting, continuous full-game recording, full-game audio production, or delayed distribution of the contest in its entirety. Any supplemental broadcast or production requires separate written authorization from Hutto ISD Athletics and all additional approvals required by the UIL, the participation shcools, venue agreements, or existing media-rights arrangements.

BROADCASTS & LIVESTREAMS

Standard media credentials are issued for legitimate editorial coverage. Credentialed access may not be used primarily for direct-to-family photo sales, recruiting products, athlete-promotion packages, advertising, personal portfolios, merchandise, fundraising, sponsor activation, or speculative commercial use. District-approved photographers or vendors operate under separate written authorization.

Unless separately authorized, non-rights holders may record only short segments for editorial news and highlight coverage. Continuous recording of the full contest and entire quarter, or a substantial sequence intended to recreate the game, is prohibited.

GAMEDAY CHECK-IN

  • Use the designated media entrance and check-in location identified in the approval email.
  • Present government-issued photo identification when requested.
  • Check in under the approved name and assigned role.
  • Receive and visibly wear the issued credential, wristband, vest, or field identifier.
  • Bring only approved equipment and comply with all equipment-screening requirements.
  • Follow only the access level stated in the written approval.

Screenshots, prior-season credentials, district badges, or verbal permission from a coach, employee, booster representative, sponsor, or parent do not authorize field or press box access.

CONDUCT & ENFORCEMENT

Credentials may be relocated, suspended, or revoked for unsafe conduct, entering prohibited areas, credential sharing, unauthorized broadcasting, commercial misuse, interference with event operations, misrepresentation of an assignment, or failure to follow staff instruction. Immediate removal may occur when conduct creates a safety, security, medical or operational concern.
